Steel Halo - the sport rumored to be played by the Imperial Holy Guard, the legendary Huristar, named in honor of their royal patron, Emperor Zaquen, known throughout the 1000 worlds as The Steel Halo.
Defiant Zaquen, who brought forth the Imperial throne in a spiritual coup against capitalism on Old Earth.
Saint Zaquen, who survived the self-annihilation of the Ennui cults of Old Earth to emerge as the Thirstless Font, the saturated mirror of eternal emptiness forever full.
Lord Zaquen, who brought Omniscience to the Xenopantheons by projecting his soul into the Sprawl where it was flayed daily by the Inquisitors for all to marvel.
Sublime Zaquen, who sated the greed of warring corporate guilds with holistic religion delivered through an endless fleet of Imperial Dreadnoughts hungry for peace.
Messiah Zaquen, the warlord saint of cannibal panspermia who ripped out his own throat so he could roar his message across 1000 worlds.
Blessed Zaquen, who claimed the 9 Heavens and 9 Hells as worlds for all by founding The Dichotomies, the binary governments of Higherarchy and Lowerarchy whose inevitable moral collisions destroy desire by fuelling ambition.
Emperor Zaquen, militant and righteous, the Steel Halo.

Taught by disgraced Huristar desperate to relive the glory of their noble post, Steel Halo has spread rapidly throughout the 1000 worlds. As it moves from world to culture to xenomorph, the sport mutates to suit those who play and watch. Not even fallen Huristar can agree on the rules anymore, but the newly formed Steel Halo League has successfully created guidelines that allow the competition to be played across the galaxy.
The reigning Empress, Isda the Ravenous, long critical of the Liandri bloodsport as a barbaric remnant of Zaquen, has issued a legal challenge against the Steel Halo League, fuelling rumours that the Empire may be close to creating an official League, with the once-secret Huristar set to vie for supremacy before the 1000 worlds.
It is even rumored the best players will be recruited by the Inquisitors into an Imperial life whose blissful promise makes even the toughest of fallen Huristar weep in memory of.
